Karpathos Michaliou beach

General information

Michaliou Beach is located 15 km southwest of Pigadia and just 3 km west of Karpathos Airport. This charming bay consists of golden sand and crystal-clear emerald eaters. The waters are usually calm and the seabed is shallow, making this an ideal spot for a tranquil swim. Sharp rocks are present in some areas of the sea, which swimmers should be cautious of.

One of the most remarkable features of the beach is its surrounding sandstone walls that are adorned with beautiful shells. Umbrellas and sunbeds are available for rent. Alternatively, beach-goers can enjoy some shade under the impressive rock formations of the area. There are also some small sea caves that one can explore as well as some hiking trails nearby.

Access to Michaliou Beach is relatively easy. From Pigadia, follow the main road towards Karpathos Airport and make a right turn about 600 meters from the airport. From there take the first left turn you see and you should reach the scenic beach in less than 3 minutes.
