General information

Kato Lakkos Beach is located on the east coast of Karpathos, about 15 km north of Pigadia and 7 km from Aperi. It features a long stretch of silky white sand adorned with small pebbles and some bigger rocks in certain areas. The waters are crystal-clear and boast a beautiful, azure hue. Surrounded by lush hills and impressive rock formations, the beach boasts an unadulterated natural environment, isolated from other beaches in the area.

Part of the charm of Kato Lakkos comes from the fact that it remains unorganized and untouched by modern tourism facilities. This means that beach-goers should come well-equipped with food, water, and any other amenities they may need. However, this will also provide them with a serene experience amidst a stunning, untamed landscape. Some tamarisk and pine trees are present in the southern part of the beach, offering some nice shady spots to relax under. Explorative types can also venture out to the cave on the northwestern point of the beach, which has water running through it, creating a truly enchanting atmosphere.

The closest beaches to Kato Lakkos are the scenic Achata Beach and the picturesque Apella Beach.
The fastest and easiest way to reach Kato Lakkos Beach is by taking an excursion boat from the port of Pigadia. Alternative ways to access the beach can prove fairly challenging and require trekking through a winding dirt road.
