Karpathos Kastelia beach

General information

Kastelia Beach is located in the seaside village of Amoopi, about 6 km south of Pigadia. Surrounded by some rugged cliffs, this Kastelia is fairly secluded from the rest of the beaches of the area, providing a tranquil environment amongst untouched natural beauty.

The shore of the beach is equal parts sandy and pebbly, while its waters are crystal clear and boast a beautiful azure color. The clarity of the waters in combination with the vibrant marine life found here has made this a highly popular snorkelling spot. There are also plenty of opportunities for hiking among the surrounding cliffs for the more adventurous types. Those up for a relaxing time of sunbathing will be delighted by the many sunbeds and umbrellas available for rent.

Kastelia Beach lies in proximity to many of the area’s most popular beaches, namely Votsalakia Beach and Megali Amoopi Beach. The village also houses many accommodation options as well as some traditional restaurants and charming cafes.
