General information

The isolated Pezonta Beach lies in a small bay on the eastern part of Kalymnos, about 15 km northeast of Pothia. It boasts a small shore and crystal blue waters that are mostly calm and ideal for a refreshing swim. The beach is protected by a collection of rugged hills and impressive mountains, adding to the secluded nature of the area and making this feel like a true hidden gem of the island.

There are no beach amenities here, so do not expect to find any sunbeds or umbrellas. The surrounding region features no tourist facilities, so visitors are advised to come well-prepared with all necessities, including food and water. Free of the hustle and bustle of busier resorts, this is the perfect spot to spend some moments of relaxation in a serene environment. In some areas of the sea, one might be able to find preserved projectiles that date to the Second World War, making this a point of interest among snorkeling enthusiasts and history buffs.

Access to the beach is relatively hard on foot, requiring a lengthy hike among some rugged terrain that can be very hard to traverse. The easiest way to reach Pezonta is by water taxis and small tourist boats that depart from the port of Vathy and take you right to its shore.
