Kalymnos Palionisos beach

General information

Sheltered from the wind and located far from the hustle and bustle, Palionisos is one of the best places in Kalymnos to enjoy the sun and the sea in an idyllic setting. It stretches in the heart of an enchanting narrow inlet on the island’s northeastern coast, and boasts inviting turquoise waters embraced by rugged hills. The beach is strewn with fine pebbles and is lined with a few trees that provide visitors with natural shade.

Palionisos is partly organized with umbrellas and sunbeds, and a couple of hospitable taverns by the beach give bathers the chance to savor mouthwatering Kalymnian delicacies while taking in the magnificent views of Palionisos Bay. Though the beach is somewhat remote, the road leading there is mostly well-paved and only during the last 200 meters does it give its place to a rough dirt road. A small jetty is also available, offering pleasure crafts safe anchorage.
