Kalymnos Vlychadia beach

General information

The picturesque bay of Vlychadia is located on the southern coast of Kalymnos, 5 km southwest of Pothia, the island’s capital. The beach is distinguished by its partly sandy and partly pebbly shore, as well as its crystalline waters that are ideal for a refreshing swim. This is also the perfect destination for a scuba diving and snorkeling experience, boasting rich fauna and flora and a fascinating seascape.

Vlychadia is mostly unorganized, however, there are a handful of sunbeds and umbrellas in one area of the beach. A few trees along the shore provide some further shade to rest. A collection of restaurants and cafes are situated just above the shore, great for grabbing a bite or a drink after a dip into the cool waters.

A diving center is located near the beach, providing lessons to divers of all experience levels. The wider region features some nice accommodations, while just behind the beach you will find the Sea World Museum which is worth a visit while in the area. There is also a parking lot and a supermarket nearby.

Vlychadia Beach can be reached via a small road that starts from the village of Vothini, southwest of Pothia.
