General information

Alexis Beach is one of the most secluded beaches in Kalymnos, located 22 km northwest of Pothia and 1 km west of Emporio. Perfect for those looking for an off-the-beaten-path destination, this quaint beach features a stretch of sand and turquoise waters. It is surrounded by an untamed natural landscape dominated by rugged mountains, affording the area a unique charm.

The isolated nature of the beach is evident in its distinct lack of facilities. There are no sunbeds or umbrellas here, however, the smattering of tamarisk trees offers some nice shady spots to rest under. Those wishing to visit Alexis are advised to first stop by the village of Emporio to acquire all the essentials they might need, including food and water.

Access to Alexis Beach is relatively easy, with the ride from Emporio taking about 5 minutes. Once at the beach, visitors are met with a quiet and serene atmosphere that provides an escape from the hustle and bustle of busier tourist resorts. From here one can also make out the Chapel of Saint Seraphim of Sarov which lies atop a hill overlooking the bay.
