General information

Built on the slopes of Mount Fourka, beneath the shadow of Xombourgo, Koumaros is a tiny traditional village with exceptional views of a lovely ravine, while a scenic trail connects it to Exomvourgo Castle.

Koumaros charms visitors with its quaint alleys, old fountains and medieval arches, while white houses that glimmer under the sun add to the captivating setting. A major sight in the area is the abandoned Monastery of Saint Angela, where an open-air theater has now been established by the artist Kostas Tsoklis, the founder of the Kostas Tsoklis Museum. During the summer months, this enchanting theater, which harmoniously blends with the surrounding landscape, often hosts a variety of cultural events such as musical and theatrical performances.

A colorful folk festival also takes place at the village on the 6th of August, the feast day of the Transfiguration of Jesus, providing visitors with a unique experience.
