Since 2009, the village’s cultural center has housed the Kardiani Folklore Museum, which boasts a rich assortment of items shedding light on what life in Kardiani was like during the previous century. Its impressive collection consists of farming, shoe-making and marble-carving tools, baking and beekeeping utensils, elaborate old furniture and other household pieces.
The picture of everyday life in rural Tinos is complemented by a series of traditional costumes and embroideries, as well as ecclesiastical items and works of folk art.
At the same time, visitors will have the chance to see findings from German ships that sank off Kardiani Bay during World War II and a number of paintings and sculptures by contemporary local artists.
