Tinos Kolymvithra beach

General information

Kolymvithra is a beautiful bay located 15 km north of Tinos Town. It consists of two beaches that are also known as Mikri and Megali Ammos (Small and Big Sand). Both beaches boast silky sand and crystalline waters and are surrounded by verdant hills and lush vegetation. They are equally beautiful and well-protected from the strong winds.

The small beach offers plenty of facilities, including sunbeds, umbrellas and a canteen with snacks and drinks. This part of Kolymvithra is quite cosmopolitan and crowded. There is a nice tavern serving some of the best local delicacies and a couple of guestrooms within a short walking distance.

The large beach is ideal for those who want to enjoy a peaceful swim away from the noisy crowds. You will find some umbrellas here as well, but there are no sunbeds so make sure to bring towels to lie on. Adding to the area's unique charm, there is an old Volkswagen bus right on the beach that has been repurposed into a small canteen, providing nice refreshments.

The drive from Tinos Town to Kolymvithra takes about 25 minutes to complete. Along the way, you will pass by some stunning rural landscapes and some of the most picturesque villages on the island. There is no designated parking area near the beach, however, you should be able to find plenty of parking space along the road.

    One of the best
Very nice but windy. Great colors. The ride to the beach is also interesting. There's a small pont right next to the beach.
