Tinos Isternia beach

General information

The lovely village of Isternia is located in the northern part of the island, 18 km northwest of Tinos Town. At a distance of about 2 km from the settlement, you will find the idyllic Isternia Beach. This beautiful cove is blessed with crystalline waters, soft sand, and a few pebbles. The surrounding rocky hills create a secluded atmosphere and protect the bay from northern winds, creating the ideal conditions for a leisurely swim.

The beach does not boast amenities such as sunbeds and umbrellas. A few trees on the shore create some nice shade to rest under and take in the wonderful scenery. At night and in clear weather, visitors are afforded a magnificent view of the neighboring islands of Syros and Gyaros. The surrounding area offers several accommodations for visitors who want to enjoy the peaceful ambiance of this isolated part of Tinos. You will also find a couple of taverns and a cafe within walking distance from the beach.

The beach of Isternia is accessible from Tinos Town via a 40-minute drive. The village is also connected with the town via KTEL buses. Buses departing from the capital make a few daily stops at Isternia, about a 40-minute walk from the beach. The long path will take you through some beautiful rural environments and is ideal for trekking lovers.
