The port receives ferries year-round daily, yet ferry itineraries are more frequent during summer to accommodate the thousands of holidaymakers.
Ferries connect the island with Athens (Piraeus and Lavrio), Macedonia (Kavala), other islands of the Cyclades (Mykonos, Paros, etc.), and a few Eastern Aegean Islands, like Chios and Samos.

Buses
Public buses are the most budget-friendly transportation option on the island. The central bus station is located at the edge of the port and visitors can reach it after walking for a couple of minutes.
Car rentals
A car is perhaps the most convenient way to reach the port. If taking your car to Syros is not included in your holiday plan, you can always rent one! Having a vehicle will allow you to go anywhere and explore the island at your own pace.
