Location: Chora

The impressive Monastery of Zoodochos Pigi (or Chrisopigi) is situated on a hill above the Chora of Sikinos (Kastro), offering a breathtaking view to the Aegean sea and the island unfolding beneath.

The monastery is said to have been built in 1690, although the description outside its entrance states 1719 as the resurgence date. It used to be a female monastery, while due its its location and surrounding walls, it used to be the frequent shelter of the residents during pirate attacks.

Those interested in visiting the monastery should do so towards the afternoon, while there is a stone path from Kastro that leads upwards.
