Sifnos Villages

Location: 3 km east of Apollonia
Description: Kastro, the old capital of Sifnos, is probably the most picturesque village on the island. Its trademark is a small chapel on the rocks right before the entrance to Kastro.

Description: Apollonia is the capital of Sifnos. It stands along the slopes of a hill and provides amazing sea views. Its architecture is of the authentic Cycladic style.

Location: 2 km north of Apollonia
Description: Artemonas is a lovely Cycladic village, almost united to Apollonia. It has many elegant mansions and picturesque streets among flowered gardens.

Location: 6 km northwest of Apollonia
Description: Kamares, situated on the western side of the island, is the main port of Sifnos. It has many tourist facilities and an organized, sandy beach. 

Location: 10 km southwest of Apollonia
Description: Vathi is a lovely fishing village with a long tradition in pottery. It has a magnificent sandy beach and lies close to the Acropolis of Agios Andreas, which boasts breathtaking vistas.

Location: 7 km southeast of Apollonia
Description: Faros is a picturesque fishing port with some tourist facilities. Amazing beaches with crystalline waters dent the coast around Faros.

Location: 1 km south of Apollonia
Description: Exambela is a beautiful village close to Apollonia. It has the typical Cycladic architecture and is surrounded by lovely landscapes. Some of the major sights in the area include the Exambela Tower and the Monastery of Panagia Vryssiani.
