The Folklore and Popular Art Museum of Sifnos is located in the heart of Apollonia, at the central square known as Heroon Square. It is owned by the Sifnian Association and was organized by the Sifnian teacher, writer, and ethnologist Antonis Troullos. The museum hosts many exhibits showcasing the old way of life in Sifnos. It aims to preserve the traditions and cultural heritage of the island, while also informing visitors of its history.

Some of the most interesting exhibits housed in the museum are the collections of swords, rifles, traditional costumes, and wood-carved objects. Old farming tools, embroidery, needlecraft, lacework, chests, trunks, earthenware, ceramic wares, pottery tools, and many other objects are proudly on display as well. Of note are the vintage photographs that depict scenes from the daily lives of locals, along with the busts of important Sifnian figures.

The Folklore Museum is open to the public from April to October, from 09:00 to 14:00 and from 18:00 to 20:00.

    Small but interesting
A small museum with two only two rooms but very interesting. I think it gives a nice view of traditional life in Sifnos and in the other Cyclades. The building looks like a house and you will surely see it as you wander around the village. If I remember well, it is next to a church. Sadly the museum is open only in the mornings, so you have to lose a couple of hours from swimming to visit. After all, there are barely any other sights/museums in Sifnos.
