The Monastery of Agios Georgios is located in the northernmost part of Sifnos, about 900 meters northwest of Cheronissos. This picturesque religious structure is built amidst a rocky landscape and is afforded gorgeous views of the surrounding natural environment and the glistening Aegean Sea. It features whitewashed walls and a blue-domed church that has been constructed in the traditional Cycladic style.
Access to the monastery is fairly easy, made possible via a dirt path starting at Cheronissos. Entering the monastery, you will see a small courtyard, where you can rest and take in the serene ambiance of this idyllic spot. The church houses a humble iconostasis, with icons depicting various religious figures including Saint George. The ruins of an ancient tower can be seen beside the monastery, adding an archaeological interest to the area.
