General information

Saoures is a secluded bay that lies on the south side of the Monastery of Chrissopigi. This off-the-beaten-path destination boasts a small stretch of pebbles and stones that border its striking turquoise waters. The natural charm is accentuated by the surrounding tufts of greenery and rocky hills. Visitors are also afforded an incredible view of the whitewashed monastery.

The beach is not organized and does not offer sunbeds or umbrellas for rent. The wider region does host a few restaurants and accommodations, but that is the extent of the tourist facilities you will find here. Because of its distinct lack of amenities and isolated location, Saoures is rarely (or maybe, closer to never) crowded, creating a serene atmosphere ideal for those seeking a more quiet beach experience. On the other side of the monastery, there is a more spacious and sandy beach known as Apokoftos.

Access to Saoures is made possible through a 15-minute long drive from Apollonia.
Buses departing from Apollonia also make stops at the monastery, which is about a 5-minute walk away from the beach via a short dirt path. There is also a bus stop in the settlement of Faros, which is around 25 minutes from the beach on foot.
