Petra Kouzina is located in the picturesque Megalochori, a village full of traditional houses and beautiful alleys. The workshop was created by a young couple after they moved to the island. It intends to help visitors discover the Santorinian culture through a culinary experience while making them feel like they are locals themselves. It is held in their home, a restored cave house from 1950, creating a unique atmosphere and showcasing traditional architecture.
The course begins with the participants and hosts getting to know each other, accompanied by various snacks and local wines. Before the cooking starts, a brief introduction to Greek and Santorinian gastronomy and products takes place. Guests then help prepare the five traditional dishes, including the famous Greek salad and tzatziki, with guidance from the professional chef. He also shares helpful techniques and tips throughout the course to make the best of the experience.
After the end of preparations and cooking, the participants can enjoy the dishes they created on the beautiful terrace of the house, along with an abundance of drinks. By the end of the class, all participants receive a special menu, including all the prepared recipes to take home and recreate.
