Opened in 2005 and located on the famous Black Beach of Kamari Santorini, Poseidon is a family-run restaurant that caters to people who choose Kamari as their place of stay when they holiday in Santorini. Poseidon is on the main strip of the village of Kamari, which is a summer resort located at a distance of about 10 km from the city of Fira and 3 km from Santorini National Airport. Poseidon Restaurant can be easily accessed from Fira by public transport or car.
The decoration is in beautiful tones of white and blue set against the cerulean waters of the Aegean, and it is quite pleasing to the eye. The restaurant offers traditional Greek cuisine and a variety of dishes prepared with fresh fish. Some of the typical Greek dishes include fava (a dish prepared from a locally grown legume), tomatokeftes (mint-flavored fried tomato balls) and tomatines (cherry-sized locally grown aromatic tomatoes). Modern dishes, like pizza and pasta, are also on the menu of the Poseidon.
The restaurant has a fine selection of wines that include some of the locally produced names that the island is famous for. Over the years, the romantic Cycladic Island of Santorini has become a hot destination for couples who want to plan their wedding and Poseidon is one of the many restaurants in Santorini that help couples plan their own special menus and work out the catering arrangements.
Special menus and prices are offered for groups who give prior notice of their arrival. The Poseidon opens from May to end of October and can seat about 100 people at a time. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and prices are moderate.
