Mylos Cafe took its name from a windmill, as it is built around a windmill. With a magnificent view of the caldera from the terrace, particularly during the night, the cafeteria is pretty crowded in high season. The indoor dining area offers equally impressive views of the volcano as the little porch outside. The effect is simply spectacular after dusk when the lights come on in the surrounding villages.
The romantic ambiance created by the white-washed Cycladic windmill and the magnificent view attracts couples and honeymooners in large numbers. A funky-looking bar has been added to the cafeteria after some recent renovation, and they offer a wide choice of drinks and a good selection of wine. One can sit on the pretty white chairs or the comfy sofas on the porch and enjoy breakfast, or snacks, or an exotic cocktail with a panoramic view of the caldera and some soul-stirring music for a backdrop. The cafeteria has an internet browsing center, too, available for its guests.
