Visit a picturesque outdoor garden setting and delve into the world of marble sculpture. Here, you'll find work tables, blocks of pristine white marble sourced from the island of Naxos, and a collection of locally forged tools.

Your experienced instructor, Maggie Ross, will take you on a journey through the rich history of marble arts, introducing you to various types of tools and discussing the unique properties of marble and other stones. You'll learn the traditional hand-carving technique for each tool as you practice on a block of marble for a designated period. Whether you choose to follow one of our Archaic Greek design templates or bring your own idea to life, Maggie will work with you every step of the way, from concept to execution. With no prior experience necessary, this three-hour workshop is perfect for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the art of marble sculpture in a peaceful and serene outdoor setting. Come and discover the beauty and intrigue of this ancient craft!

Duration: 3 1/2 hours

All tools, materials, worktables, and marble are included. A local sampling of drinks and bites, too.

Directions: Pass through the village of Egares (15 minutes north of the port), past the olive press museum, and past the bridge. After 100 meters more or less there is a small blue sign "OUTOPIA" (actually the second sign).
Turn left onto a gravel road and we are at the 3rd gate on the right.
