A microbrewery founded in 2016, Mikonu (also known as Mykonos Brewing Company) is located right outside Mykonos Town. Mikonu means of Mykonos and their first batch of craft beers launched around May of 2017, bringing the soft breeze of friend-owned businesses over this tourist-filled island.
Mikonu, housed in an industrial space just below ground level that once was a bowling center, combines high-quality Greek malt & Belgian caramel wheat malt to create unique and delicious beers for everyone. Brewing is mainly done in large stainless-steel containers & fermentation vessels or, situationally, in aged wooden barrels.
The brewery’s products divide into three different series:
Mikonu’s Core Series is a year-round, mass-produced selection of craft beers that ship out all over the country and can be found in stores, bar taps, and some restaurants around Mykonos.
The Barrel Aged Series focuses on vintage, experimental tastes where the malt is aged in wooden barrels that once contained different drinks and spirits, producing fine alcohol bottles, such as the Barrel Aged 2019 Red Saison.
Finally, the Collaboration Series is a rich catalog of joint efforts with other microbreweries around Greece. Carefully created with a passion for beer and drinking, these products are available in Mikonu brewery and some other chosen venues.
This friendly brewery hosts a taproom, ideal for chatting and board games while you enjoy one of the (always) available tap beers (open all year long). Also, Mikonu offers a brewery tour & 5-beer tasting package for visitors, lasting about 45 mins. Both the taproom and the brewery are open Monday to Friday from 11 am to 6 pm.
