Montparnasse or The Piano Bar is a bar where live music and delicious cocktails will create you a memorable evening. Originally named Sempre Viva, The Piano bar opened its doors in 1983. It was a comfortable place which remained open for the most part of the day.
In the evenings, people headed to the bar to enjoy some live music around the piano while sipping on exotic cocktails. The Piano bar changed its location in 1994 and moved to a building and bar called Montparnasse, the oldest bar in town. Located in Little Venice, it was a perfect place for the bar to reopen its doors for its age-old clients. The Piano Bar has comfortable interiors giving one a home like feeling. The surroundings, too, are breathtaking. With the beautiful Aegean sea at its doorstep, it is the perfect place to enjoy a drink during sunset.
The view from the bar is fantastic as you get to see the famous Mykonos windmills, restaurants and Taverns present on the shore. Surrounded by traditional Greek buildings painted in white, the bar presents a picturesque view to its visitors. There are a number of live shows with Cabaret and piano bar entertainment.
The "Piano Bar" is known among the gay community. It has gained a lot of popularity with the crowd and is known to have reputed international clientele. It is an ideal place for a few lazy drinks before heading out to party later at night. You can even stay on if you like as the party here continues with performances from the in-house entertainers.
The bar is highly reputed and recommended by many. It has been mentioned in the 2001 Frommer’s Gay and Lesbian Travel Guide and Conde Nast Traveller’s July 2002 issue. Many travel websites also advertise the joint as one that should be visited. So, if you’re on your way to Mykonos, The Piano Bar seems just right for your fun evening!
