General information

The wild Agios Sostis Beach is one of the northernmost beaches of the island, situated a little northern than Potamia Beach. It owes its name to the chapel of Agios (Saint) Sostis on the western side of the coast.

The beach has sand both on the coast and on the seabed, under the crystal clear blue waters. Although tamarisks are very common on the island’s coasts, are missing from Agios Sostis, and as the beach is completely unorganized, visitors should bring their own gear. Moreover, due to its remote location, there are no shops in the immediate vicinity, so carrying snacks and water is also essential.

Despite its location, Agios Sostis has a lot of fans and it is common to encounter several bathers on a summer day. Yet, thanks to the relatively large shore and the fact that people select this beach for its calm atmosphere, others probably won’t bother you.

The beach is accessible by car, yet drivers need to be careful for around 1.5 kilometers before reaching it, as the road becomes dirt. It is not possible to park next to the beach, so after parking, guests must descend a path that is a bit steep. Small children, elders, and overall people with reduced mobility may have a hard time with the latter, so we suggest avoiding Agios Sostis.
