Ancient Ruins of Koufonisia: The only archaeological site in Kato Koufonisi is some ruins of an ancient temple. Today, a small church dedicated to Virgin Mary is built on top of the ruins facing the sea. The date of the temple's construction is unknown. Nowadays, Kato Koufonisi is uninhabited and can be visited only for a day boat trip from Ano Koufonissi.
