The Devil’s Eye isn’t just yet another natural pool in Koufonisia. You will find it hidden among the rocks on the right side of Pori Bay, inside a small, low-roofed cave, which is connected to the sea via underground rock formations. There, sea currents keep filling a hole in the ground with foaming sea water, only to suck it back again, creating an absolutely spellbinding phenomenon.
Though swimming inside this pool would be quite perilous and should not be attempted, the Devil’s Eye is still well worth a visit since the power of the sea and the roar of the water as it surges back and forth make for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
