Located in the Small Cyclades complex, between Naxos and Amorgos, Koufonisia is a cluster of two heavenly islets, Ano Koufonisi and Kato Koufonisi. Of the two islets, only Ano Koufonisi is inhabited, boasting a small picturesque settlement called Chora.

Where is Koufonisia? Koufonisia lies 111.5 nautical miles from Piraeus (Athens). The closest islands are Naxos, Amorgos, Schinoussa, Iraklia and Donoussa.
The island does not have an airport, while its port is located in Chora, the capital and only settlement on the island of Ano Koufonisi. Ferries connect Koufonisia Port with several other islands of the Cyclades, especially during the summer months, when itineraries become more frequent.
