Koufonisia Detis beach

General information

Stretching in the heart of a lovely cove, Detis is one of the closest beaches to the Old Panagia settlement and the marina of Kato Koufonisi. Strewn with a combination of coarse sand and fine pebbles, it boasts dazzling turquoise waters, as well as magnificent views of Keros. Impressive rock formations and a small cave can also be seen on the right side of the beach. It is a perfect spot for snorkeling and is well-sheltered from the northern winds that often sweep the island in the summer.

To reach Detis, you will need to take one of the water taxis that connect Ano and Kato Koufonisi, and disembark at the first stop near the tavern. From there, you will have to walk for about 1 kilometer. Please note that the beach is completely non-organized and there is no natural shade, so you will need to come equipped with all the necessary conveniences, including water and an umbrella.
