The Folklore Museum is the only museum in Folegandros, founded in 1988. Dozens of findings and objects that represent the local tradition of this island are spread into the four levels of a 19th century rustic house in the village of Ano Meria. The museum provides a perfect source into the cultural insight of the island and the exhibition will definitely draw the attention of all visitors.
The Neoclassical 19th building itself can travel you back in time as it is a true copy of a rural household. On the third floor, there is a library relating to traditional practices and other information on the everyday life of the locals. There is an open courtyard where many events take place during the summer season.
The Folklore Museum in Ano Meria Folegandros is housed in a traditional, agricultural house and it has all the premises of old times, such as a wood oven, stable, well and olive press.
