Donoussa Local products

Donoussa is a tiny island and its economy is based mostly on agriculture and cattle breeding. The products of Donoussa are known for their strong flavor and quality. The most famous product of Donoussa is axialomytzithra, a kind of hard cheese made with yogurt. Local traditional dishes include patatato (braised meat with potatoes) and kavourmas (pork meat fried in fat). Very popular is also rakomelo, a beverage of raki mixed with honey.
