Rethymno Agios Vasilios

General information

Agios Vasilios is a small village about 27 km south of Rethymno Town, at an altitude of 310 meters. It was named after the church of Saint Vasilios located in the area. Preserving its traditional character, the village is adorned with narrow streets and small, picturesque houses made of stone.

Verdant nature comprising lovely plane and fir trees surrounds the village of Agios Vasilios. Two famous gorges, Kourtaliotiko Gorge and Kotsifou Gorge, lie nearby and are ideal for trekking lovers.
