Located 3 kilometers west of Rethymno Town, the Secret Gorge aims to treat its guests with the most unique culinary and wine experience in all of Crete. This secluded restaurant boasts a one-of-a-kind locale hanging on from the side of the Zourida Gorge. The Gorge, featuring lush vegetation and impeccable views, takes its name after the zourida, a ferret that lives within its caves.

Guests of the restaurant can expect an enchanting atmosphere, overlooking beautiful landscapes and set to the background of wild bird sounds. On the menu, eight premium Greek wines take the spotlight, each one with its own layered tastes and aromas, sure to satisfy all kinds of wine lovers. On the food side, you will find eight authentic Cretan dishes, all cooked on the spot with locally sourced, organic ingredients.

The Secret Gorge offers a wine-tasting session that will take you on a tasting journey of all eight available wines, accompanied by their most delicious dishes. Patrons can also learn about the complexities and methods of wine production and get a thorough lesson on Greece’s wine-making heritage.

The restaurant operates on a reservation-only basis and is limited to just 12 seats. It is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for three hours a night, from 20:30 to 23:30.
