Akri is a charming tavern located in the Old Town of Rethymnon, offering a fine selection of traditional Cretan dishes. The outdoor dining area has patches of green everywhere with a refreshing scent of jasmine with small tables set under a wooden trellis.
The dishes of Akri Restaurant are delicious and homemade. Bekris mezes is a tasty winter appetizer and a popular dish at Akri. The menu includes Piperies Tiganites (fried sweet pepper), Kotopoulo Souvlakia (chicken souvlaki) and midia tiganita (fried oysters), a side dish of deep fried squids. The tavern offers many homemade dishes which carry a long tradition in Crete. Some days of the week there is live music with traditional Cretan songs and dances.
