General information

Misiria Beach is approximately 5 km east of Rethymno Town, close to the National Highway leading to Heraklion. It is a long, exhilarating, and serene sandy beach, ideal for swimming and sunbathing.

The coast is covered in coarse, golden sand, and the waters are clean and shallow, boasting lovely shades of blue and green. It is well organized, with sunbeds and umbrellas, offering a variety of accommodation choices. The area can sometimes be affected by winds, making the waters somewhat wavy. The shore is a nesting location for the Caretta-Caretta turtles, which come to lay their eggs every summer.
