Lassithi House Of Vrahassi

The Folklore Exhibition of Vrachasiotiko Spiti is located in the village of Vrachasi in Lassithi, about 20 km northwest of Agios Nikolaos. It is housed in a stone residence that dates to 1880 and features many elements emblematic of traditional Cretan architecture. First opening its doors in August of 2009, the exhibition's main objective is to showcase the history of the area of Vrachasi as well as the day-to-day lives of its inhabitants.

The traditional house consists of two floors, a ground floor and a basement. Visitors can wander through the main room, featuring vintage decor and furnishings, the bedroom, where the loom was, an office space, and a storage room. Household items from the village’s past can be found here, including clay pots, plates, wicker baskets, traditional wear, and various textiles. The walls are adorned with old photographs depicting important Cretan figures and other historically significant events.
