General information

The quaint village of Kalo Nero is located near Kapsa Monastery. It boasts three remote beaches, the main one in the area being Staousa Beach.

Isolated and small in size, it is not well-organized, so visitors should make sure to come equipped with any amenities they may need. The beach is covered in pebbles and the turquoise waters run clear and are ideal for swimming. Its secluded nature away from fuss makes it the perfect spot for a relaxing and quiet morning.

The beach’s main attraction is the large cave on the east side. With intricate rock formations and fresh water dripping from its walls, it is a beautiful sight to behold. It should be noted, however, that the cave is unfortunately close to collapse.

Access to Staousa is fairly easy by car, with a small trail and some steps leading you directly down the beach.
