Lassithi Richtis beach

General information

Richtis Beach lies 20 kilometers west of Sitia, right at the exit of the verdant Richtis Gorge with its spectacular waterfall. Though it is possible to drive directly to the beach through the paved road that starts at the Exo Mouliana village, it is worth combining a visit to the beach with a hike along the 3-kilometer-long gorge.

It is a small rocky beach which is not particularly suitable for swimming, especially on windy days. Nevertheless, it is just great for a refreshing dip after your hike along the gorge. The beach is completely secluded and non-organized, so there are no facilities in terms of food or accommodation, but there is a small tamarisk grove with tables and benches, as well as a stone fountain with potable fresh water.
