Lassithi Kato Zakros beach

Located near the exit of the stunning Gorge of the Dead and the Minoan Palace of Zakros, Kato Zakros Beach stretches on a lovely bay surrounded by low vegetation and wild cliff sides.

Strewn with fine pebbles, it boasts calm azure waters and is lined with tamarisks that afford some natural shade. It is not organized and visitors will find no umbrellas or sunbeds, but there are a few traditional seaside taverns where they can enjoy a prolonged delicious lunch or a romantic dinner while taking in the lovely sea views. It hardly ever gets crowded, even in high season, so it is an ideal spot for relaxation. In Zakros village, one of the most picturesque in Lassithi, it is also possible to find a few accommodation options.
