General information

Kamini lies 17 km southeast of Agios Nikolaos, close to the ancient Minoan site of Gournia. Kamini likely was Gournia’s access point to the sea, with the ruins of many Minoan structures still present in the area.

As much as it shines in its rich history, Kamini is just as well-known for its breathtaking natural beauty. It boasts 5 pebbly beaches, whose coastlines are characterized by a gorgeous limestone lining. The soil in these areas sports a striking dark red hue, while the abundance of rock formations, sea caves, and other geological wonders is sure to catch the more inquisitive eye. The waters are relatively calm and at a moderate depth.

The beaches are not organized, with no amenities available to visitors.
