Lassithi Candia beach

General information

The last beach north of Agios Nikolaos and on the road towards Elounda is the beach of Candia or Katsikia. Katsikia is the Greek word for goats, with the beach named after the many goat pens that used to live in the area.

Boasting a sandy shore and clear blue waters, the beach is a good option for a leisurely morning swim. With the waters being rather shallow, it is perfect for families with small kids. Fairly secluded and far from the fuss, this charming little beach provides visitors with a quiet and peaceful environment.

The beach is well organized, with sunbeds and umbrellas readily available as well as a shower. There are also plenty of trees scattered throughout, offering some extra shade.
