Lassithi Argilos beach

General information

Argilos Beach is a beach unlike any other in Crete. Located in the remote area of Xerokampos, 102 kilometers from Agios Nikolaos and 45 kilometers southeast of Sitia, Argilos (Clay) Beach is, as its name indicates, a natural spa where you can enjoy a therapeutic clay bath.

This is a beach of stunning natural beauty, enclosed by imposing cliffs that create a magical setting. It boasts inviting turquoise waters that deepen gradually and fine golden sand infused with white clay. All you have to do is dig a little bit and spread the white clay all over your body. As soon as it dries up, you will soon feel its therapeutic effects, as clay is a natural cosmetic that soothes many skin conditions.

Argilos is not organized, so, if you decide to go there, you will need to take all the necessary equipment with you, including some food and water.

Important note: Taking clay with you is forbidden, as this would significantly alter this unique landscape.
