Lassithi Ammoudara beach

General information

Ammoudara Beach is a long sandy beach situated 5 km south of Agios Nikolaos, on the road to Ierapetra. Sheltered by a beautiful bay with crystalline cerulean waters, it is rarely affected by the strong summer winds, known as meltemia, which makes it perfectly safe for families with children.

Being well-organized with sunbeds, umbrellas, watersports facilities, seaside accommodation options, and delicious taverns, Ammoudara is amongst the most crowded beaches in Lassithi. It is a fine choice for swimming and sunbathing, as the waters are always cool on account of the underground water springs that open into the sea in that place. The right side of the beach gets rocky and is not organized, affording more peace and tranquility.
