General information

About 98 kilometers southeast of Agios Nikolaos lies the village of Agia Irini. This picturesque village serves as the gateway to a beautiful gorge and is also home to a secluded beach, the homonymous Agia Irini Beach.

The name Agia Irini comes from the chapel that is located right on the beach. The beach itself features crystal-clear waters and a stunning, pebbly shore. The waters run relatively calm and the isolated nature of the beach provides a quiet and serene atmosphere. The presence of some tamarisk trees also affords visitors some nice shady spots to relax under.

It is worth noting that there are no amenities on the beach, with umbrellas and sunbeds being a notable omission. There is, however, a traditional tavern nearby, perfect for grabbing a bite after a nice, refreshing swim.
