Lassithi Achlia beach

General information

About 50 km southeast of Agios Nikolaos and just 15 km east of Ierapetra lies Achlia, a small settlement in a cove, characterized by its lush greenery and beautiful beach. Known for its crystal clear waters and soft, white sand, Achlia Beach stretches just in front of the cove and provides the perfect little spot for a relaxing day by the sea.

The beach has minimal development but sunbeds, umbrellas, and opportunities to partake in water sports such as kayaking are offered. A food canteen is located on the beach and some mini markets are nearby. In addition, visitors will find some traditional tavernas and cafes in proximity to the beach, offering a wide range of local and international cuisine.

Due to its calm and vivid blue waters, the beach is ideal for swimming. The sand is not too coarse and, besides the umbrellas, an abundance of tamarisk trees provide shade for its visitors. Quiet and fairly secluded, Achlia is popular with families visiting the area and provides the right conditions for a safe and tranquil time at the beach.
