General information

Sidonia Beach, also known as Kato Psari, is a charming shore situated 79 km southeast of Heraklion Town. It is believed to lie at the location of Ancient Sidonia Town. The tourist development in the area is not extreme, making it a perfect place for quiet and relaxing vacations.

Its dark gray, coarse sand, along with its crystal-clear blue waters, compose a unique, picturesque landscape. The sea is very calm with a rocky seabed. Across the coast, you can find a few umbrellas as well as tamarisks, providing nice spots to sit under the shade.
The shore has a volleyball court and water sports facilities available to everyone. A local sports club hosts plenty of events on the beach, including football games, volleyball tournaments, beach parties, and canoeing.

Around the area, you can find taverns serving delicious traditional specialties, as well as some mini markets. The accommodation choices may be limited, but they are pleasant and comfortable.
