General information

Platia Peramata is a small, secluded shore located 69 km south of Heraklion Town, right in front of the village of the same name.

The coast is covered in gravel and sand and mostly serves as a place for the locals’ boats to moor. It is not organized with sunbeds or umbrellas, so it’s recommended that you bring your own gear in order to be comfortable.

Around the area, you will find a few traditional taverns where you can enjoy local specialties, as well as some rooms to rent. If you’re feeling adventurous, there is a diving center on-site, offering scuba diving lessons and equipment for anyone who wants to try.
