The Greek Mountaineering Club of Chania is organizing for the 6th consecutive year the mountain running race of Samaria Run. This great sporting event will take place on Sunday, May 10th, 2015 at the famous Samaria Gorge, in western Crete.
Starting from Omalos, a small village south of Chania, the Samaria Run is a fantastic experience for all participants, as they get to meet with the most exotic and diverse landscape of Crete island. This 18km race starts at the site of Mahi and follows a picturesque route that combines mountain and sea view, passing through the first half of the impressive Samaria Gorge.
Throughout the race, there will be 6 support stations every 3 km, so participants need not to worry about supplies. Registration is available for Greek and international athletes and is open until May 6th, 2015.
