MonEs Restaurant is a gourmet establishment in the heart of Chania, hidden in plain sight. It is a separate part of the Monastery Estate Hotel in the Venetian Harbor, but over the years it has taken on an identity of its own, inviting guests from all over the world, whether they are staying in the hotel or not!
The restaurant is housed in an old Venetian structure, dating back 500 years! Inspired by its exterior, the originators of MonEs created a space that resembles an old Venetian Villa, with brick arches and stone-built walls.
The dishes prepared at MonEs are handled carefully, with an aspiration to take guests on a journey that will awaken old memories and teach them about Crete’s distinct flavors. Every ingredient is locally produced and the courses are inspired by traditional Cretan cuisine and international recipes. The restaurant’s signature dish; honey-glazed pork belly with molasses and pureed celeriac will leave you speechless!
