The building that houses the Foundry was built in 1930 and was originally used as a foundry, giving the establishment its current name. Through the decades, it was used as a printing house and a cultural center before being turned into a stylish accommodation choice. It is located in the heart of Athens’ historic center, in the Psiri neighborhood, very close to many major sightseeing sites and transportation options.
Accommodation The Foundry offers twelve urban luxury suites that accommodate two to four guests. They combine the industrial with the mid-century modern design, creating a unique vibe of earthy colors and interesting furniture. Some suites have a small private patio full of flowers and plants. Each room has a kitchenette equipped with a refrigerator, a stovetop, kitchenware, a coffee machine and an electric kettle. Each bathroom is supplied with towels and bathrobes, a hairdryer and complimentary toiletries. Other amenities include free wi-fi, air-conditioning and heating, a telephone, a turntable and Bluetooth speakers.
Facilities The establishment provides guests with a beautiful rooftop garden filled with different varieties of plants and flowers, which reinforces its pledge to sustainability. Visitors will find a cafe and cocktail bar on the roof, where they can try homemade pizza or a refreshing signature cocktail. Culinary events often take place there, while breakfast is also served daily, either on the rooftop garden or in the rooms, brought in a lovely picnic basket. In addition, the Foundry offers car and bike rental services, as well as shuttle services, at an additional cost.
Experiences The Foundry can arrange a wide variety of activities and events for its guests. These include cultural and historical tours, trips to the outskirts of the city, cooking classes and bike and walking tours, among many others. Furthermore, visitors can ask the staff for any recommendations or restaurant reservations.
