A neoclassical building behind the historical Panathenaic Stadium greets the diners of Soil - a unique restaurant that has received one Michelin Star and invites guests to reconnect with nature in an edible way. Run by two of the most renowned Greek chefs, Tasos Mantis and Alexandros Mouridis, and using the purest ingredients, the gastronomic experience in Soil is unparalleled.
The restaurant offers a tasting menu consisting of 14 courses that portray the farm-to-table mentality. Plenty of herbs, fruit, and vegetables featured on the plates have been cultivated in Mantis' own garden in Alepochori. In fact, in order to preserve and enhance the earthly approach to food and consequently pass it on to the diners, all staff members have spent some time on the chef's farm. Except for the organic produce, eel from Arta is also a favorite raw material starring in the courses.
Not only the food, but every aspect of the establishment is in harmony with the worldly vibe. Minimalistic yet modern furnishings are hosted inside a building that showcases neoclassical Athenian architecture. Wooden floors add an extra earthly touch to the setting. Additionally, plates and candlesticks were custom-made to allow guests to focus on the exquisite taste of the recipes without being guided by sensationalism.
